About lernaura

I spent twenty years scaling software in a world growing more complex and regulated. Now I'm building the rails that make selling globally simply compliantdown to the smallest transaction.

    Founder, lernaura

I spent twenty years scaling software globally. I founded TimeXtender in 2006 and built it into a global data-management company — a founding product of the Data Warehouse Automation category — sold the majority to Monterro in 2022, and handed over the CEO seat in 2025. I'm still a shareholder and board member.

Selling software across borders for two decades, in a world that gets more complex and more regulated every year, teaches you the pain in person: every new country adds tax, invoicing, payment and reporting overhead that has nothing to do with your product. I lived it — and I see it every day in the software companies around me.

Two convictions made this my next company. Europe needs to step up its game: the solutions on the market are not European, or they're slow incumbents, or they simply weren't built in the age of AI. And the future of online trade will increasingly be driven by agents — software buying from software, at volumes and ticket sizes no current structure can carry.

AI completely changes how companies can be built: compliant by design, scaling toward near-zero marginal cost per transaction. That matters, because volume and complexity are growing exponentially at the same time — with more regulation landing on top. If we keep today's thinking, agent-to-agent microtransactions will never be economically viable. The structures have to be rethought, not patched.

That is what I've set out to solve with lernaura: take today's rising back-office headache off the shoulders of everyone selling software and digital products globally — and build the rails where even a microtransaction is legally and tax-compliant. On a quest to make even the smallest transaction compliant — the EU way.

"If we keep today's thinking, agent-to-agent microtransactions will never be economically viable. So we rethought the structure: compliant by design, near-zero cost per transaction — built in Europe."
    The Decision

An important part of your business is pure admin. We decided to make it disappear.

To sell digital products across borders today, you build a department: a subscription platform, an ERP, a tax engine and a payment processor — four systems that each assume the others did the legal thinking. None did. The billing system sends 'service, €100, customer X' to the books; nobody worked out which country's tax applied or whether the invoice was even legal there. The payment processor moves money and stops. What fills the gap is people: the finance and RevOps hires who keep four systems aligned, chase failed payments, reconcile currencies, and clean it all up at year end — expensive, fragile and, across the market, often simply wrong.

So the decision was to refuse to build a better component and to lift the whole burden instead. On the Rails, sellers ship their product and the admin of selling is ours: payments accepted the way your customers pay — cards, local methods, and classic invoicing for B2B, with subscriptions and renewals running either way; money collected and recovered; FX handled; tax calculated and filed under our registrations so you never register anywhere; a correct invoice for every buyer in every country's format; disputes fought with evidence; your payout clean and in your currency. What's left on your side is the bookkeeping system you already have — and your numbers actually get better: MRR, ARR and deferred revenue computed from the source of record, always reconciled, ready for your books, and complete enough to audit your whole revenue operation whenever you want.

Underneath sits the part I care most about — and the part you never have to: every transaction recorded at the finest possible grain, every automated action logged and verifiable, every piece of the work proven by hand before it was trusted to run on its own. That discipline is what lets us carry legal obligations on your behalf at scale, and it's why the price can be what it is.

One price: 5% + €0.50 per sale, all-in — payments, tax, invoicing, disputes, payouts and the software. No platform fee, no minimums, no tiers. We only earn when you sell, so our growth is literally your growth. That's not a pricing strategy; it's alignment.

    What We Believe

Three principles that shape everything we build.

    01.

    Alignment over extraction

Our price is the transaction, nothing else: 5% + €0.50 per sale, all-inclusive. No platform fee, no minimums, no tiers that punish growth. We only earn when you sell — so our incentive is exactly yours: more revenue, in more countries, with less overhead. That's alignment.

    02.

    Boring by design

The best infrastructure is the kind you stop thinking about. One integration — a clean API, and an MCP server your coding agent can drive end to end. A sandbox in one call. A test clock that proves a year of renewals, failed cards and disputes in minutes, before you ship. Everything after that is our job, done silently, on every sale.

    03.

    European by conviction

Outsourcing your back office means handing over your revenue data, your customer data and your money flows — so who you hand it to is the whole question. With lernaura it's 100% sovereign: your data never leaves the EU, in any form, and there's not a hyperscaler in the stack — Scaleway hardware, Scalingo hosting, Mistral AI, Mollie payments, every layer European-owned. GDPR and AI Act compliant by construction. Sovereignty is a buying criterion now — and it cannot be retrofitted.

    1. 01

      EU-Sovereign Infrastructure

Database and hardware on Scaleway (French-owned); application hosting on Scalingo (Paris). Your data stays in Europe — not because we promise it, but because the hardware is European-owned, with no US-owned link in the chain.

    2. 02

      European AI

Mistral for embeddings and generation. Gladia for transcription. European-built, EU-hosted — and every automated action on the platform is logged and verifiable, whether the law requires it or not.

    3. 03

      GDPR by Design

Not a compliance layer added later. The data architecture was designed for GDPR from the first line of code — and the same discipline runs through everything we ship.

    4. 04

      The Back Office, Handled

Tax, invoices, payments, collection, FX, refunds and disputes — our job on every sale, in every supported country. The records behind all of it are one export away whenever your accountant asks. Not a plugin's best effort. The outcome.

    The Path

Twenty years scaling software globally — then the rails.

    2006
Founded TimeXtender on March 18. Built category-defining software in data warehouse automation — a founding product of the category TDWI named in 2014.
    2010s
Scaled globally. Five years living in the US, building the American business from the ground up. Learned what it takes to compete globally from a European base.
    2022
Majority exit to Monterro. Sold to the Swedish PE firm. Led the M&A phase that followed — acquiring and integrating companies to complete the TimeXtender offering. More than doubled the business together with Monterro.
    2025
Handed over the reins. Stepped down as CEO in April. Relocated to Copenhagen — and saw the need and the opportunity: selling software globally is drowning in admin, and none of the tools were built in the age of AI.
    2026
lernaura launches — March 18. Exactly twenty years after TimeXtender. The company that takes the admin of cross-border selling off Europe's sellers — one integration, every country handled, one clean payout — and a free creator platform for EU/EEA creators, on the same engine.

Sellers ship. We handle everything else.

Developers: create a sandbox and be selling in an afternoon — 5% + €0.50 per sale, all-in. Creators: the full platform is free, forever; you pay only when you sell. We currently accept sellers based in the EU/EEA — your buyers can be anywhere.
